Why do cultures come into conflict?
Cultures come into conflict because people with different cultures and beliefs can be against each other's beliefs and ways of life. When people are against each other's beliefs, they might go to war with each other. Different beliefs may offend other people and cause an argument. This happened during the Civil War when southern states thought that slavery should've been tolerated while northern states thought it should've been abolished. Both the northern and southern states clashed and caused the Civil War. Conflict caused by culture can affect many people. The Civil War caused many soldiers to die and many people to starve. Since there was a war, much land was destroyed.
Another example of cultures coming into conflict is the fight for women's rights. Many people believed that women weren't as important as men and shouldn't have many rights. Women had little power while men had much of the power. Women fought for their rights by having a women's right movement and by giving speeches on why women should have more rights.
